REPORT 018 :: SIMULATION // ACTION | VOICE
[ACTION]
[Once again, SPARTAN-023 walks towards the Battle Dome, trying to see if it had been fixed already. Having been a raining day, yesterday was unbearable for the taller girl in a red jumpsuit, so she tries her luck again... But she stops on her tracks. She could hear something near the village. Her keen ears were able to hear familiar things from the woods.
The Chief Petty Officer walks towards these voices, and presses the voice function of her journal.
She removes the safety lock of her pistol.]
[VOICE]
[There is the low rustling of leaves, sign of someone moving stealthily... and whispers in a language that the wings translate into one deep military voice, and three high-pitched ones.
A lone alien voice yells in panic upon seeing the woman.]
Covenant!
[There are more alien screams of alert upon hearing the growl of the Spartan, before rapid gunshots mute one of the high-pitched voices, making the rest of the voices panic and shoot. The deep voice roars devout threats before it is interrupted by the sound of a broken body, followed by alien gunshots that mute the remaining voices.]
This is SPARTAN-023. I need a sitrep. Now.
((OOC: Set the moment the simulated drones begin to show up, at 12:00pm. Even if in this post Daisy is concerned over the Covenant, you can bring in your own monsters and items! :D))

[Action]
[She revises the frige... Apparently, not only her armor was relocated. Good.]
I'm not picky. I could use some meat, though.
[She wanted to say something sweet, but she needed the protein right now.]
[Action]
[Though the food in the fridge does seem real. Robert takes out a cutlet of whatever meat Daisy has available - likely chicken, since it's such a staple - and then starts to clean and prepare a space for the eventual dish on the counter top.
... He would've made her something sweet to go with it, too, though.]
[Action]
[Daisy aids him as he cooks, extracting plates and other vegetables. For an instant she extracts her knife-- And remembers that she isn't in a combat zone per se, and there were knives in the drawer that would be more fit for cutting things than a combat knife.
She withdraws it, and cooks in a semi-normal way.]
[Action]
... Eventually, working together (and probably with Daisy having to tolerate Robert taking exceedingly precise measurements of quantities), they manage to produce some aromatic roasted chicken and grilled vegetables. It... admittedly smells very nice, and considering there still aren't any enemies around, Robert considers this the nicest meal he's had in awhile.]
[Action]
She has cooked before, and is a little bothered by precise measurements, but the Chief Petty Officer is not the cook. She is the baker.
The amount Daisy desired to cook... Was a little big. At first glance, unreasonable for two people. But she doesn't seem the least bothered. Instead, she is happy for the results.]
It came out great.
[Action]
I appreciate the assistance...
... Though I a-admit, having time to practise has... improved my abilities as well.
[He carries the serving tray to the table and doles out portions, again with a preciseness that is probably unnecessary for this kind of thing.]
... There is a relatively large amount here though... did you wish to k-keep the excess, or...?
[Action]
A satisfied sigh.]
... This came out great.
[Action]
... That answers my question.
And yes... I am actually surprised.
[Action]
Muscles have to come from somewhere.
[Hey. Your body is not just what you do with it, but what you eat.]
... But I'm serious. You know your stuff, Robert.
[Action]
... Do you really think so? [He's kind of embarrassed and flattered all at once.]
[Action]
[Then again, she has survived for a long time eating MREs of the field. A triple contradiction of terms.]
You've cooked before?
[Action] | D'aw, those new icons <3
[... Okay, he probably was rich enough to live off of restaurants and the like, but it required being around people and it was a temptation to go drinking because it always reminded him of just how alone he was.]
[Action] Thanks! Found them over at Halo Waypoint! I wish for more older un-helmeted shots...
It's a good habit to make your own food. [She nods.] Leaves you less dependant on Chefs and MRE's.
[Action] I hope you can find more, but these are cute :3
Y-yes, that is true... though part of it is that I enjoy the chemistry. [It's something he can justify being stupidly exact on.]
... If you w-would like to learn more, I would be happy to help - though there are ch-chefs in Luceti who far surpass my talents...
[Action] With any hope, a new book will have more. I hope. ^^
Thank you, Robert. [She looks at the window in the kitchen.] Once this blows over... I have things to teach you, too.
[Even with the job she has to do, for this instant, she wishes for this part of the shift to last. After this ends, she wishes to try Shikamaru's trick for this house.
But even she knows it would be escapism.]
[Action] \o/
[Action]
[She drinks from her glass, before slowly picks the helmet back up. A cautionary measure, to read her radar in case something ended coming up.
Somehow, despite how safe she felt inside the MJOLNIR, it makes her feel alien inside of what should have been her house.]
[Action]
I would appreciate both, truly.
[And then his tone turns anxious.]
... I... I might like to.. h-hear about self-defense techniques as well. Sometime.
[
Hell, later on, he'll even employ it briefly against a simulation, to defend Giles...][Action]
Then again, it was unthinkable for a Spartan to ever rebel from her purpose. Yet it happened once.
She nods to Robert. Her voice is understanding.]
I know some you could use. [A lot, actually. Some forged by the Spartans themselves.] When you wish to learn, let us know. We'll be waiting.
["Us" referring to herself, Ami, and Donatello. In the end, it will be Robert's choice.]
[Action]
[Robert hopes he can still be a pacifist, even if he learns to fight. He doesn't want to completely abandon his thinking, as a Terran. But he is beginning to understand what a place like Luceti entails, now.]
... if there is... a-anything else I could teach you... I would be glad.
