REPORT 016 :: UNEASY // WRITTEN | VOICE
[Daisy awakes in the middle of the night with the memories of her death, surrounded now by the piles of drawings and studies she had made after the last two battles over the month. All of them, drawn, noted, and observed from her helmet's video logs.
She removes her helmet, letting her armored fingers and palm caress her youthful face.
Between having fought in the draft, having been changed into a meek girl in the small moment of peace, and then narrowly surviving that thing -- "Mu", as her Captain called it... It is amazing enough that she was alive, let alone able to stand and help.
Her armor had taken a severe beating. Between injuries she had taken care of (some of them still recovering from, though), and both swords and lasers of the Murakumo unit, there were sections that would need repair. But with the fear she had that the threat could return, still as fanatic as ever, she could not warrant the days of maintenance it until the threat was proven to have been -truly- neutralized. The caves.
If Shirou Emiya and Rin Tohsaka were here, they could have repaired her armor, and have the Spartan in 100% fighting condition in no time.
The Chief Petty Officer sighs, still looking at the drawings and sketches of Mu-12's body and weapons. It annoyed her the most knowing that the enemy had been in Luceti before, but that the guide had not even written anything about her.
She was familiar with ONI Classified BS. But the little information they had about Mu-12 unnerved her. How much did Adell know, even if they were rumors? If that thing had been here in the past, why hadn't she attacked before? If they all turned out to know something... why were they hiding all of this?]
[Daisy was not going to sleep much tonight. She leaves a few brief text messages, expecting them to be attended in the morning. First thing, letting people know she had survived this month.]
S-23 here. I'm ok.
[ENCRYPTED TO SMITHY PERSONNEL]
What is the tech level you guys can work with?
[ENCRYPTED TO PAPRIKA]
Is there a way to get over bad memories?
[The nutcase that loves combat and whose relative sanity depends on it, also has recurring nightmares of the moment she died. Especially so with her brush against Mu-12.]
[ENCRYPTED TO ROBERT HASTINGS]
[She hadn't seen much of Robert lately. Helios had mentioned he was still alive, but...]
Are you alright?
[Finally, there is one last message she wants to make. The Chief had heard there had been a lot of casualties with the battle against Mu... And she hadn't heard of either Valvalis, or Kirimi. It is the only message with voice.]
[ENCRYPTED TO VALVALIS]
Mind if I come over?

[Her voice is weak, strained.]
You're okay. G-good.
[Voice]
[Voice]
[It's a big improvement over "dead", after all.] Are you okay?
[Voice]
[... She got a good share of injuries.]
Just hoping things calm down. ... I kind of miss the days I was baking with Charle.
[Yes. Those days in which she was scared of everything.]
[Voice]
[Despite her crushing pessimism during that time.]

We're not exactly um... up to par with the usual Earth stuff. Winry knows the most, but she doesn't do weapon. I'm... okay-ish?
[He's been studying modern tech, after all. Going from being an inventor to way behind the times is rough.]

[SPARTAN-023, too, realizes this is too sudden.]
It's not an immediate project. I'd just like to know if it would be possible. I'd like to start once the dust settles.
[Private]
[Because armor is just armor, right? Can't be anything special.]

[And forgetting dying comrades would be a disgrace to herself.]
There's tech in my world to overcome traumatic memories, but even that has its' limits.
private
But, I'm not quite sure what you're asking me. A memory is an experience. You can't undo that experience and forgetting it to any figurative degree only depends on how willing you are to let it go.
private
I've been having nightmares about an old Op. I want to know if there's a way to stop them. I want to let them go.

[Daisy was preparing to leave her apartment, but the unusal tone... It worries her. The Spartan wishes her suspicions about Mu being responsible are mistaken.]
Re: [Private]
[[She's still been crying about the loss of her father. Well, temporary loss, and it's technically not the first time he's "died", but, it was the first she's been privy to, and helpless towards.]]
[Private]
...
What's happening?
[Daisy's words trail off. Valvalis put her back together when Daisy needed her. She owed her too much to leave her now.]

Robert? Miss Daisy left you a message...

But this surprises him a little.]
... Ms. Daisy...?
[Drying his hands on a small towel, he takes the journal almost cautiously from Don. It's been... well, a long time since he's talked to Daisy. And the last time was that infernal experiment that made him spout nonsense.]
... Thank you, Don.
[Voice]
Robert.
[The Spartan sounds relaxed. She doesn't notice she used the Doctor's first name.]
I'm glad to see you.

[His voice is still a little... sad-sounding. Almost vulnerable, in a way.]
